Psalm 51 : To receive grace after committing a great sin

If we are degraded by a worried and agitated conscience for having committed a great sin, we must therefore recite this psalm with the Holy Name DAM, which we will keep in mind, three times a day in the morning, at noon, and in the evening, on poppy oil. Say at the same time a good prayer appropriate to the occasion in which the evil has been committed, with great humility and sorrow that the Grand Judge is to obtain from every person with a contrite heart, then anoint the whole body with the oil thus consecrated and we will see that in a few days we will find grace and our conscience will be at peace.

(51: 1) To the Chief Musician. Psalm of David. (51: 2) When Nathan the prophet came to him, after David had gone to Bathsheba. (51: 3) O God! have mercy on me in your goodness; According to your great mercy, blot out my transgressions;

(51: 6) I have sinned against you alone, and I have done that which is evil in your sight, so that you will be righteous in your sentence, without reproach in your judgment.

(51: 8) But you want the truth to be in the depths of your heart: therefore make wisdom penetrate within me!

(51: 9) Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

(51:10) Show me gladness and joy, and the bones which you have broken will rejoice.

(51:12) O God! create in me a pure heart, Renew in me a willing spirit.

(51:14) Give me back the joy of your salvation, and may a spirit of good will sustain me!

(51:15) I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.

(51:16) O God, God of my salvation! deliver me from shed blood, and my tongue will praise your mercy.

(51:18) If you had wanted sacrifices, I would have offered them to you; But you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

(51:19) Sacrifices which are pleasing to God is a broken spirit: O God! you do not disdain a broken and contrite heart.
